Adam Ruben talks about his experience of being the only Jewish guy on an evangelical ski retreat (coincidentally, the very retreat I just got back from today). It’s definitely funny to see how some things never change (“Their trip is hot chocolate and board games”), but what I really appreciated was his ending comments – I think they’re quite deep.
Very interesting video defending sweatshops. The authors, obviously, don’t support sweatshop labor. Nor do they believe that sweatshop labor should continue indefinitely. They just make a (fairly convincing) case that sweatshop labor is better than the alternative.
Conventional wisdom states that a strong presidential candidate needs to be multi-dimensional, not just focused on one issue. Donald Trump has had some pushback, mainly because he’s viewed as a social liberal and a fiscal conservative (though with his support for taxes on Chinese goods, that may not really be all that accurate). In this Fox video, Trump fights back, describing himself as pro-military, pro-life, anti-gay marriage, and all around “very conservative”.
